Just had a major #thunder and #lightning #storm pass over my house in #WallaWalla I have never been so close to the action before. The lightning strikes were within 2 kilometers of our house. Our house shook so hard, it was almost like a small earthquake. Surprisingly, most of our power stayed on, and also our Internet. There were a couple flickers, but most devices and power supplies remained untouched.

#Chimacum will enter service on our #Seattle/#Bremerton route starting with the 250p sailing to replace #WallaWalla, which must undergo necessary repair work. We expect Walla Walla to return to the run before the weekend.

Another big thanks to our crew on day of grounding for their quick actions and professionalism, as well as our partners at @wastatepatrol, @USCGPacificNW & @KitsapTransit for their assistance. And much appreciation to everyone involved with getting #WallaWalla back into service!

The investigation into how the fuel was contaminated is ongoing. To ensure a similar incident does not occur, all fuel currently on board has tested clean. New, upgraded generator monitoring gauges have also been installed on both #WallaWalla and its sister ship #Spokane.

There is a joke somewhere about being stuck in #WallaWalla (the town or the prison), but that's for a west-side of Washington person to make.

As someone who lives here (the town), I'll say it's quite wonderful.

So, uh, sounds like the #WSF #WallaWalla is going through some things. This is the ferry crossing I use most often. Very glad to hear initial reports that no one suffered injury from this incident.

If you use the Bremerton-Seattle crossing, remember: they need more bubble power!

Went to #WallaWalla's Builders Resupply (essentially a Habitat for Humanity ReStore by another name) to get wire and components for grounding my station. Didn't find any large gauge wire, but did score ~70ft of good condition RG8/U for 3 bucks
