If you're saying the general public should stop relying on #centralized, #private walled-garden #services and instead use #open, #federated #protocols and #services operated in a community-owned-and-operated way, then I am 10^6 percent behind you.

How you translate that into getting your friends off #Twitter or your grandparents off #Facebook is an entirely different problem, which may not be soluble.

Tips for jail breaking the Kindle App. I've bought an ebook on Amazon and seem to only be able to read it via the Kindle App. I have a KOBO, no Kindle. This means I have to read the ebook on my phone, which is ridiculous. Is there are way to free the ebook-file from the Kindle App environment and turn it into a readable file format for KOBO?

#Godot Community Forums is but another #platform with the puppetteer. I would not ask enthusiasts to host similar #platforms indefinitely and users to depend on them, since each one of them remains a #WalledGarden.

I think we should gather more around the distributed communities on #Lemmy, #Matrix and such. This way, nobody feels sick of being in the single room with hot-headed decision makers.

I held on to #Apple’s #Podcasts #app for a long time, partly for the #integration with other devices in the #WalledGarden. But eventually it just was too buggy, and I thank you! I eventually found my way to #PocketCasts, and I’ve been overjoyed with it.

I noticed my list was getting long so I just started using its #folders function. How wonderful! Thank you for a wonderful app! I highly #recommend it.
