If you're waiting for the next series of #Unforgotten & are OK with subtitles, then I can recommend #Sisterhood (an Icelandic series from C4 #WalterPresents) which has a similar narrative arc & while having different emphasis for the focus of the story, will be a reasonable gap-filler while you/we wait for the Unforgotten to return....not as good of course, but still delivering an interesting drama!

Just watched #WalterPresents #Sloborn on C4+ - this story of what happens on an island off the baltic coast when a major pandemic takes off is relatively plausible & an interesting reflection on how things with #Coronavirus might have gone a bit differently (if it had been like #ebola).

There's plenty of sub-plots but the dramatic focus is what happens to individual liberties when the state (here #Germany), acting to protect (what it sees) as the general good sacrifices the infected to fate!

It is not has dark as nordic noir but they seem to press hard on human/social issues

#InspektorFalke from a crime series prespective is ok, nothing special. First I see from Germany so not much to compare it with. But the themes it covers are not to help you unwind: refugees, people traficking, colonial aspects of gun manufacturing. I guess that explains why so many Agatha Christie detectives and things like Murder, She Wrote are so popular. They have no deep content. #TVSeries #WalterPresents

Yesterday I discovered the wonders of #WalterPresents, a streaming service from #Channel4, but what is it with the subtitles all over the screen? we can handle it if the subtitles slightly cover the actors names, but might get repetitive strain injury from moving my head up and down if they keep moving :ablobsmile:
