At 1330 sharp all of our phones in north #Taiwan blasted into “Presidential alert” mode for a pretend air raid. For half an hour we are required to turn off all indoor lighting that is visible through windows from the outside. Cars and motorcycles must move to the side of the road and stop. Subway commuters are not allowed to leave the stations. In certain districts, people are required to report to shelters.
