Being a Navy guy myself (11 years in the Norwegian Navy) I always knew the story of course.
Finally (in the 90s) I could visit the place, now working on a cruise ship.
When we sailed in to the harbor and had the local guide talking on the ship's PA system, it was hard for me, a grown up man, not to cry.
I really struggled.
Once again, with all my heart, I thank you for your service and for your ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
