In Switzerland, 8% energy was saved in October, 6% in November, and for December some data seems to be still missing, as 27% is simply not plausible.
Thanks to continued #electricity #imports from #Germany and #France despite the #WarmWinter, the #reservoirs are still very full for the time of year. This means that #Switzerland has solid #hydropower reserves even if #energy shortages should arise at this point.

Switzerland’s #energy #imports remained high despite the #WarmWinter, which favored the #hydropower from its rivers. In fact, there was only one cold week in December when #France had to stop its #electricity #exports and France and #Italy had to import energy from Switzerland.
And a look at #Switzerland’s #reservoirs shows that the imported energy has not been wasted, their water levels are higher than ever and offer large reserves even if the winter should turn colder.
