Heat #Advisory alerts are in place through Wednesday, where it could feel around 100°.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING:

A new #Severe #Thunderstorm #Warning is in effect for southern #Burnett and southwest #Washburn counties until 4:45 p.m.

#Winds could gust up to 60 mph, and any #hail could be up to 1" in diameter.

Greatest threat remains for spots south of Highway 70.

A severe #thunderstorms with #winds up to 80 mph is passing through southern #Pine County and southern #Burnett County through 4:30 p.m.

Anyone south of Highway 70 should seek a safe place.

Meanwhile, a severe thunderstorm #watch remains in effect for Pine, Burnett, #Washburn, and #Sawyer counties until 10 p.m. for possible #hail and high winds.

No Strings Attached

I had read recently that Silk and Steel strings are nice on small body guitars, so I bought some.

First I removed the Bronze Phosphors I had on my Washburn R320SWRK and cleaned it and conditioned the fingerboard.

I took this photo while the strings were off and stirred it around with some Photoshoppery.

The strings are pretty nice. Sound good and they're a little softer.

@vwbusguy it's interesting my first guitar was an #Epiphone, then I went to a #Washburn as it seemed to be the next step up. I never felt I was a good enough guitar player to buy a #Gibson.

#Guitar a day. #Washburn model 217, ca. 1901-1905. Got it at a flea market for $20. Not in great shape; top is cracked, the bracing is collapsed, the binding has disintegrated here and there. Would require almost a complete rebuild to make it playable.

But it’s still really aesthetically pleasing. I love the contours of these old parlor instruments. Lovely herringbone purfling at the binding. Hard to see, but there’s also a pretty red stripe running up the back.
