There's no question that this has been one of my favorite reads of this year so far. At turns technical research or star-eyed wonder or wholly deranged, I feel like a world has been opened up to me. I like the idea that this book is a little like a wasp itself in that it needs more than a quick glance and feels a little dangerous. May we never forget just how much dumber bees are than wasps, and just how close we came to kissing Aristotle.
