#Apple has contributed absolutely nothing to the #computing #history, except for designing pieces for the #posh, who upgrade #computers every five years, #tablets every two years, and #phones every year, just to show off, as well as #wasting #resources as very few other #companies might do.

Don't even get me started about the clearly amazing quality of #OpenSource #software, in which all Apple products are based, but made #close #source by them afterwards.

I really hate #wasting things. So, by nature, unfortunately I'm a #packrat ... Thankfully we've found a way to donate or recycle quite a bit over the last year or so. Nothing like #lockdown to make you sick of looking at piles of shit in your home.

Sometimes saving stuff pays off, though. Most recent example: I've repurposed an old #iPod touch. First, for song mixes I use specifically for practice. And now, for white noise. It's even worth the pain of keeping #iTunes on my PC!

Like many (all?) people who have delved into the #discard and #wasting systems of the Western world, I felt burned and disheartened by what I learned about "recycling" and plastics. Liberals and progressives HATE hearing about this: we ate that #recycling story right up. 🙃 So seeing things about #Terracycle, my interest is piqued ... and my scam radar is up. Their website is unambiguous: we recycle it all.
