Another favourite, one of Ball watches classic dressier/vintage lines, the Ball Trainmaster Power Reserve, NM1056D-L1J-WH.
I'm not really bothered about lume, but the tritium tubes are great for low illumination all night. I love the detail how the top of the number 7 is the word Ball in tiny letters

Kinetic watch charging station, using a Philips tea candle charger

I had to replace the battery with a new lithium rechargeable, but dad's old Pulsar kinetic watch is back operational.

I think the six station Philips candle charger I picked up off eBay will work to keep my kinetic watches charged, but I have to take it apart to bypass the timer so it stays on constantly instead of shutting off after about 12 hours.

In the meantime, I have a single station Dakota watch charger that works, provided you place the watch correctly on the stand so that the coil is in the middle of the ring.

I put a replacement battery in my Bulova Accutron watch last night. It's a caliber 5181, so it's happy with a modern 1.55V cell. It's one of my dad's old watches. Wearing it reminds me of him, and the accutron movement is super geeky. The fact that it's also a beautiful watch that keeps great time is a bonus.

Found a really useful android app, which uses the microphone of my phone to measure the tick rate of an automatic watch.

Watch accuracy meter allowed me to quickly adjust my vintage 1960's omega watch back to within a few seconds per day. Curiously, it can't pick up the ticks on my Invicta watch, but it seems to be ok with my other automatic watches.
