I've seen some plainly wrong takes on this story along the lines of “this is inevitable, #AI is too dumb to avoid transphobia / other hate."

But it’s not. The scene resulted from fallback to a more rudimentary model less amenable to #OpenAI's moderation tools. Encouraging that in more advanced models this is largely solved & the #watchmeforever team has learned not to fall back to the less moderated model.

The channel turns a "make sense mode" on and off, with the higher quality/slower AI used when the mode is on. This happened when using the quicker/worse AI.

#WatchMeForever has all the hallmarks of Theatre of the Absurd: endless cycles without change, dialogue consists of non-sequiturs that demonstrate that language if fundamentally ill-equipped for people to express any real meaning or ideas. Repetition upon repetition.

If #Seinfeld was Absurd Zero Sugar, Watch Me Forever is the aspartame left over if you boil the flavor and creativity away.

I think #WatchMeForever the #Seinfeld parody is a good use of AI. Basically it's a Windows Animator-style digital puppet/vocoder program that receives 24/7 input from an AI fed on Seinfeld dialogue -- thus resulting in a continuous hell of bad Seinfeld ripoff.

It seems like genuine art to me. The art isn't the product, though; the art is the program that produces an endless output of content sludge. I think it's genuinely the best example of Theatre of the Absurd I've seen in a hot second.
