Interesting research about impacts of drought on green infrastructure. They compared areas that were watered with non-potable water (so not subject to watering restrictions) & areas not watered. In both cases, vegetation was still impacted (though in non-pot watered areas, slightly less), but in both cases, vegetation bounced back. https://waterinthewest.stanford.edu/news-events/news-insights/keeping-green-during-drought

@lilmsmally yeah, it sort of, kinda, makes sense, but i still have an issue with it. i do water recycling for my house plants though - simply reuse the dirty bath and sink water. i honestly think everyone should do it. it's easy and ecologically important.
