I've been playing with a #raspberry #pico and #DS18B20 temperature sensor connected to a #waveshare Pico #e-Paper 4.2 B display. Great, waveshare #C sample codes are #GPL3 :-)

In the process of getting together the parts for this project, I also discovered that these exist. This is a FFC cable and HDMI adapters from #waveshare. Which allows you to make your own (short and thin) HDMI cable. With any combination of HDMI, Mini HDMI and micro HDMI. Which makes it perfect for a project like this. Trying to find a display module other then #raspberrypi or #waveshare and all I find is insane prices for bare modules without PCBs or only these HMIs . Why would I want well practically a whole computer monitor that is can't build into anything? They all come with a case etc. What the hell does anybody need HMI for in the time of tablets and mobile phones and well.laptops?!?

Still, out of cost reasons, USB-Boot would've been the most versatile option allowing anything from a cheap & slow USB 2.0 Thumbdrive [or even 3,5" FDD if supported for retro fans] up to a huge-ass array of HDDs and/or SSDs...

Continuing to work backwords on this project. Now to consider logic:
Current concept is HA helpers for current miles, service miles, service date, and service now(boolean). If you already have odo tracking the boolean toggles on and alerts when above the service miles or past date. You can also manually update miles and it should work the same.
Once the bool is turned off, it'll calc new values (+3000 miles/3 months) and send the sticker. #homeAssistant #nodeRed #cars #waveshare #nfc #ccBySA
