#wayfire too but windows tiling is just a option here. And it's very basic an limited. My main #windowtilingmanager is #hyprland

Neue #hyprland 0.25 kommt mit zoom-Feature. Schwer gespannt, was das genau ist.
Könnte meine #wayfire Installation auf dem Notebook ablösen. Mit dem Zoom spare ich mir beim Lesen der Tageszeitung den Artikel anzuklicken. #anonym

So I spent the night playing with #Wayfire, a compositor (not a desktop environment, there is a diff) for Wayland. Everything was running well until I turned on one option and pulled the latest #FreeBSD kernel and installed it (I saw changes in the iwlwifi driver, I really don’t want to use wifibox anymore), and then chromium and Firefox won’t load and the house of cards comes crashing down. It looks like there is an issue with a video driver (intel). But that’s bleeding edge for you.

Was mach ich nach #openSUSE Leap? #ALP soll das nächste Ding werden.
Bin skeptisch. Keine Lust auf ein Flatpak, Appimage, wasauchimmer System.

Habe erst vorletzte Woche 15.4 mit #sway installiert und optimiere immer noch.
Vielleicht hätte ich doch lieber #voidlinux, #zfs, #wayfire installieren sollen?

Wenn #wayfire geforkt wird, wird das automatisch im Matrix-Channel angezeigt. Es erscheint dahinter: /o\
Negative Bewertung also.
Forks können zu Fragmentierung führen. Das ist natürlich schlecht.
Aber es demonstriert auch Interesse an der Software - es muß ja nicht zwangsläufig zur Zersplitterung kommen. Denke, das sind Leute, die erst mal in einer abgesperrten Umgebung tüfteln und verstehen wollen, bevor sie am offiz. Projekt beitragen. Insgesamt bewerte ich das positiv.

Es ist nicht möglich nach #wayland zu filtern. Es ist nicht mal möglich nach #sway, #wayfire und Konsorten zu suchen.

@gnulinux Meistens nutze ich XFCE. Auf einem reinen Wayland-System bin ich bei einem Mix von XFCE Anwendungen (Thunar, Mousepad,...) und #Wayfire / wf-Shell gelandet :)

@TheOuterLinux @mntmn On the shot there was running #Telegram #Firefox #Thunderbird and some others besides #Wayfire in the background. Here two other shots directly after boot on my #Reform

@mntmn you should checkout #wayfire (https://github.com/WayfireWM) as alternate DE for the #reform ! i compiled it with wf-install and use waybar for the top panel and wf-panel as tasklist at the bottom (hidden on the shot)
Wayfire is awesome!

@Creideiki I've had none of these issues on #wayfire (good compositor btw), except Firefox isolating itself occasionally. Maybe it's doing some compatibility stuff ...
