Anyone else having issues installing addons on #Thunderbird115 under #sway and/or #wayland ?

In the process of updating/upgrading the #rockpro64

Switched to a 250gb micro sd for the boot drive. Currently installing #Debian Unstable/Sid/Testing.

After much doing some extensive reading, I am going to go with #Gnome DE as it has the best #Wayland support. I hope this works out well- Gnome DE is not my go to DE.

@cosmo I do all my gaming with #amdgpu on #Wayland nowadays. #Gamescope works just fine.

No idea what Broadcast is. I make this all work with virtual audio devices and some OBS magic.

Recording tho? Nah… forget it. Vaapi just sucks. I got an XR1 Lite to do this job externally with a dedicated system.

@millihertz @SweetAIBelle @retronianne I just don't see a reason to use #emacs over #ne, #nano or even #vim.

Not to mention that people who say some bs about "#Unix #Principle" but then use basically a #TUI-#Desktop with #email client, #filemanager and #editor rolled up in one kinda discredits them...

I’m in the process of nuking and paving my work laptop to deal with mixed DPI, scaling issues, #Wayland etc. in a dual-screen setup with #Kubuntu 23.04. I just tried the vanilla #Ubuntu 23.04 in a live environment and I’m impressed how most of my problems don’t even exist and how polished the Ubuntu #GNOME setup is! Having switched permanently to #KDE Plasma 5+ years ago (and loving it!), I’m now seriously evaluating a switch back vanilla Ubuntu, if I can’t fix my issues on Kubuntu! ❤️

Any #sway users that have set up a bindsym that prints an emoji? (Ideally without using the clipboard)

My first approach has been #dotool https://sr.ht/~geb/dotool/

It looked promising first, since printing characters works fine. however it has problems printing emoji. I haven't had time to investigate further.

I am just wondering if a different tool would be better suited.
