Awards shows are not my thing but I had some interest this year because I loved #EverythingEverywhereAllAtOnce, which hit me hard as a middle aged person doing a lot of processing of my #adhd (and then I learned later about adhd’s influence on the film 🤯), and as a child of immigrants.
I want #Asian #Representation & creative excellence, so it’s gratifying that the movie won Best Picture, Director, & Screenplay, & Supprting Actress, and that #MichelleYeoh was awarded for her incredible, deeply moving performance.
But everyone loves #Waymond and #KeHuyQuan’s acceptance speech is everything. Not just the gratefulness and humility - I just know where he’s coming from and it’s good to see someone try and struggle and persevere to finally make it.
