Picked up the reissue of Wayne Shorter's "Schizophrenia" yesterday. Such a great album. There was a reissue of of it a few years ago, but I think it was a digital transfer.
The recent Blue Note reissues, IMHO, are really well done.

Helping the rich get richer does nothing to curb the extremes of #capitalism. The Wayne Shorter documentary was produced by Brad Pitt of all people. So, it is not even as though #jazz historians were complete in control here. Watching this #documentary just helps the rich get richer. This adds #CurtisFuller bringing Mingus-eque vibes on the trombone, but, imo, #WayneShorter is the star unleashing some killer sax. Plus it has the irrepressible #LeeMorgan who is worth the price of entry alone.
This #record is cut by #KevinGray as part of the #BlueNote Classics series which, in a world of spiraling #vinyl costs, still represents great value.

Shorter, a practicing Buddhist, said he was "looking to express eternity in composition." The sense of eternity comes up in other works: Gary Burton & Chick Corea's Crystal Silence (the live version, with orchestra) & some of #KethJarrett's stuff. And especially in #AliceColtrane. Probably many more.
