#WCC2022 🇫🇮 - L’autre côté de l’espoir : Je termine le challenge 2022 avec du retard et en ayant déjà attaqué le suivant, mais quel plaisir de finir avec Kaurismaki. A chaque fois, il me procure des émotions. C’est touchant et bienveillant, drôle et absurde. L’esthétique et les thèmes se répondent mais c’est à chaque fois une superbe surprise. On devrait plus parler de Aki Kaurismaki !

#WCC2022 Ava Gardner - La nuit de l’iguane : Un pasteur défroqué se reconvertit en guide touristique. Lors d’un voyage qu’on devine être le dernier, il est la cible des avances de trois femmes très différentes. Film étrange mais passionnant par la galerie de portraits qu’il propose. Des personnages égarés et complexes, des dialogues brillants et de très bonnes interprétations (Gardner, Burton, Kerr). Pour ne rien gâcher, la mise en scène et la photographie sont remarquables.

#WCC2022 Rémy Julienne - Le marginal : Je m’attendais à bien pire me disant qu’il fallait voir de mauvais films pour apprécier les bons. Alors ok, les dialogues sont rarement fins et on a parfois l’impression que des scènes sont des copié-collés de choses déjà vues ailleurs. Surtout, l’intrigue est poussive et le film s’enferme dans une sorte de catalogue de l’illégalité. Mais d’une cela se laisse regarder, et de deux Belmondo.

#WCC2022 … avec du lait - Léon : Alors ça se suit sans ennui, les scènes d’action sont souvent une réussite. Mais. Le scénario et les personnages (Stan/Gary Oldman en tête) ne sont pas crédibles. Et il faudrait en plus avoir de l’empathie pour un tueur parce qu’il a l’air inadapté et qu’il a sauvé d’une mort certaine une adolescente ? Non merci. Bref, pas un grand plaisir à revoir ce film vu il y a au moins 20 ans.

#WCC2022 Gérard Philipe 💯- La beauté du diable : Évocation du héros de conte, Faust, et de son pacte avec Méphistophélès. La mise en scène, certes théâtrale, est maîtrisée et le duo d’acteurs (Philipe - Simon) fait merveille. Les rapports hommes-femmes, la richesse sont interrogés. Une vraie réussite, un humour quasi constant. Super découverte.

#WCC2022 Dorothy Dandridge 💯 - Tamango : Peu de films disponibles mettant en scène Dorothy Dandridge. Ce film, l’un de ses derniers, est une coproduction italo-française se déroulant sur un navire négrier. Tamango fomente une mutinerie, une relation se tissera avec Aiché, l’esclave du capitaine. Pas un grand film mais un sujet assez rare à l’écran et la découverte d’une actrice considérée comme la première afro-américaine ayant réussi à Hollywood.
