Back in 2019 after Michelle Caswell's #ipres2019 keynote "Whose Digital Preservation?" I wrote this #wdpd2019 blog, reflecting on some personal thoughts about the risk of discrimination in digital preservation practice. It's a train-of-thought piece and far from complete .... been trying to spark debates about the issues since then, but diversity discussions that have popped up since never wanted to go beyond metadata, it seems.

My employer has insisted today that I remove the categories of 'Digitization' and 'Digital Preservation' from my position description and replace them with 'Archival Expertise'.
Whut?π
I was an archivist for 4 years. I am no longer an archivist and donβt do archival work - Iβm just in the archives dept.
Happy #WDPD2019!
