I went to Hamradio in 1989, professionnal RF engineer dc to 100GHz,System architect,french and swiss citizen.
I made a lot of contest from VHF to SHF in the past with the HB9WW team mainly in the 90's.

We ARE talking about #WeakSignal modes here. So what would seem like an insignificant difference in #NoiseFloor between 2 receivers on FM broadcast, or even perhaps SSB phone, is suddenly an enormous, critical difference.

When you hear #HamRadio folk talk about a particular radio that might not have their favorite features, or aesthetics, “…but it has a GREAT receiver…” this is the point they’re talking about. Sensitivity & Noise Floor.

Snagged a couple of 6m MSK144 contacts over the last couple of days. Including a new grid square! 👍☄️
Switched over to FT8 on 6m and got a new (to me) grid square!
Just because there isn’t a major meteor shower or its “not 6m season” (northern hemisphere) doesn’t mean you can’t make contacts on 6m!
Give 6m a try all year round!
