They want Twitter, just without the man baby in charge. They are missing the possibility that things could be better than they were even before he took over.

The same is true for all the folks who want to “get back to normal” as we move through the pandemic. Why should we settle for going back when we’ve learned so much that we could use to make the world better than it was previously…?

The cost of caring for one another—be it housing, or healthcare (physical and mental), or basic income, or any/every societal need—is always certain to be less than the cost of ignoring issues until later, insisting that it is the individual’s issue to sort out…look at the criminal “justice” system and what gets spent failing to resolve what are essentially poverty and mental health issues…
