so I just moved into "out" in another space.

each week, I write a newsletter for #WeAreTeachers sharing news and resources for #middleschool and #highschool #ELA #teachers.

the one I just sent in, which will be published on Sunday, casually references my being #ActuallyAutistic in my blurb about an article describing how to use better language around disabilities in schools.

so that happened.

here's a reel of me performing a short #SpokenWord #poem in support of National Youth Violence Prevention Week for the #SandyHookPromise program & #WeAreTeachers

what I'll share with my #ActuallyAutistic friends is that this was the poem I wrote, performed, and produced in one day bc I screwed up the job's deadline & wasn't prepared with the original script. and this was also the day I forgot to attend a meeting I'd set up. but I'm very proud of this success.

Im trying to focus on the positive. Next week, my #Poetry collective is hosting two events in two different cities, and I’ll be performing some newly memorized stuff

Also, on Monday, a reel I made for an school safety-related event is being released. It’s the first time I’ve merged my two side gigs - #SpokenWord poetry & my #WeAreTeachers work - and I’m really excited. I’ve made a habit of keeping my interests separate due to shame, so this is big for me

I also advocate for our community of Lancaster, PA, and the surrounding areas. My poetry collective works with students in many schools to empower kids thru creativity

And I talk a LOT about being #ActuallyAutistic & how this affects my work
