Yesterday was one remarkably photogenic moment for a complex of storms to go through central MS. These were taken with the iPhone using night mode. Night mode enhanced the Madison city lights across the water. The rain shafts was pretty close to what my eyes saw but favored the lighter side of what actually was seen.

Today had to be one of the most photogenic thunderstorms I have ever encountered.
Where the sky is yellow on the right side, I had to darken the clouds slightly to get the contrast to behave and get the yellow closer to what my eyes saw. It was amazing to see all the changes that occurred in such a short period of time (45 minutes)

Lightning seen as the storm clouds seen in my prior posting brewed into full blown thunderstorms this evening. The lightning strikes were about 20 to 25 miles from me.

Was able to successfully photograph daytime lightning for the first time today. Did not use a lightning trigger; instead, I used the Fujifilm “Pre Shot" feature. It's not perfect, as it requires use of electronic shutter and all of the challenges that entails. Next time I'll use my stacked sensor camera and manual focus, which should maximize my success rate using this feature. #lightning #weatherphotography #fujifilm #fujifilmxt5 #ohwx #tolwx
