I finally got a proper meteo station. When we didn't have any, our watering system used meteo data from #Brno Airport which is like 15 km away. That was not quite accurate. The alternatives were $60/year to get data from closer #WeatherUnderground stations or getting our own station.

BTW I wonder if there is any open alternative to WU (a network of hobby meteo stations). 🤔

Heute Vormittag sagte #WeatherUnderground noch, es sollte heute Abend um acht, halb neun anfangen zu Gewittern. Später dann stand da was von 22 Uhr. Jetzt hat es sich auf 2 Uhr morgen früh verschoben.

It feels weird determining that the #Android #weatherunderground app by #ibm is be the best balance of data #Privacy and #Security and #weather forecast accuracy according to my particular threat model. Mostly because, you know, IBM.

Too many #hashtags? Probably too many #hashtags...

Looking at #WeatherUnderground I see that the winds in the rest of #Boise are SIGNIFICANTLY calmer than they are at our house here in the #Foothills. Northend? Calm. The Mesa? 3mph. Our house? 26 GUSTING TO FREAKING 40!

First snow some 40km from here, at about 1000-1200m. Feeling it all, more or less directly as I woke up fine and lo and behold, as mum saw from the balcony out for a smoke, the joints began acting as if I had taken strawberry gelees instead of methylprednisolone.

PS: http://wunderground.com is literally NWS data + crowdfunded data. Their parent company is #TheWeatherCompany (same as #TheWeatherChannel). #WeatherUnderground has an app, but its reportedly been cut-down over the years.

So one of the things that I’m super passionate about is #weather and I actually got a #tempest #weatherflow (weather station) for my birthday.
