It’s 2023, why are so many platforms/sites still allowing users to complete signup without verifiying email addresses?

*pontificates* if you sign up for something and the email address cannot be verified within a couple of hours, the account should be automatically deleted. You don’t get to sign up /sign in until the email address is verified.

Quite an interesting read about how much web culture lore is stored in transient platforms and the loss of historic web content, in this case the risk of using Discord as an information source.

Ist mitunter so links und unerfahren hier, oje. Es wird von dieser bubble nichtmal gemerkt was davon längst reaktionär eingestuft ist. Auffällig ist zudem, im internationalem Raum ist der Erfahrungsschatz mit Diskussionskultur höher und Umgang gesamt respektvoller.
