Does anyone know of any reputable, free (or ultra-low cost) #webhosting sites? I own a #domain and want to build a personal #website but a) am between gigs (read: broke) and b) unsure what’s out there. I’d love recommendations if you’ve got them. Thank you!

@sihaha @guido Was jedoch auf jeden Fall kommen wird, ist ein eigenes "Beschreibungs-Freitextfeld", welches der "Hauptzugang" für die "Unterzugänge" setzen kann.

Das haben wir quasi auch schon überall in unserer #Webhosting-Verwaltung umgesetzt, wo mit Zugangsdaten "hantiert" werden kann.

I've been with the same #webhosting company for years, since day one. Yesterday, they somehow deleted my inbox on my IMAP account. Currently, they have a team working on restoring it, but I am super disappointed. I made a new contact on the coast while I was there, & I hadn't yet answered her email. I told them, this is my business account!

I mentioned earlier that I rented a Teamspeak3 server at https://instanthost.gg/en.

And it turns out there are Backups available to me from Users BEFORE me.

Luckily it seems they haven't uploaded any files it seems but everything else is still intact.

So I guess don't make backups if you host your server there.

My #webhosting provider is being super cagey. Reading up and looking into my own *subscribed #Linux server. Doing a very long back up for 11 websites via #FTP now. I hate to go through this much trouble. That is why I pay for hosting. I hate the hassle. Seems like I may have no choice. If you want something done correctly, you have to do it yourself, as the saying goes. Besides, I have had one website or another for close to 20 years. I am past due to manage it all myself. #webdev #website

Besser / performanter als das aktuelle Shared Hosting ist alles. Aber angedacht wäre

min. 250 GB Speicher (SSD oder NVME)
möglichst kein Datentransferlimit
möglichst 1 Gbit/s Anbindung

Bei den beiden letzten Punkten wird's leider schwierig/sehr teuer.

did we just delete the packages that were already there? i already had php7.4-xml and in doing some combination of apt update upgrades it autoremoved php7.4-xml and now claims that the package never existed at all and it means that my php websites are currently broken. is this how we punish people who can't do-dist-upgrade because do-dist-upgrade is literally a scam? #linux #ubuntu #webhosting
