It turns out nostr can be used for WebRTC signaling. That means peer-to-peer connectivity between web, mobile, and desktop apps:

Try #nextcloud which has a "Talk" app for chat and video/audio calls. You can #selfHost or find a #saas for this #openSource tool that has loads of really solid group features (primarily file sharing but *so* much more).

been thinking about making a #vuejs based #webrtc multi player board game base component aimed at local and online play and a checkers and go example

no match making or backend at all just magic links for remote play and mainly designed for eink tablets

realizing this would be a great tool to use from the #fediverse and in theory be interesting to make an #activitypub implementation similar to #LearnAwesome that handles matchmaking and spectators and posting wins

@neurovagrant Learning #Matrix and running your own #homeserver is very rewarding. I run #Synapse for my family and personal social circle (the way social networking *should* be), and to connect to other Matrix #spaces and #rooms. This includes bridges to #irc, #slack, #discord, #signal, #SMS, and so on.. Matrix is a super good and flexible way to serve you and yours. We even utilize the #WebRTC functionality for #E2EE voice and video chats.
