The rules of Soccer have been changed so much since I was a kid (e.g. GK 4 second rule, passback to the GK, etc.) that dealing with this nonsense can't be that hard.
Even Athletics ignores the limbs when judging whether someone has crossed the finishing line and they've used that common sense for centuries.
