During 2020, an investigation led by the Lisbon Polytechnic Institute, covering detection of mycotoxins and fungal spores in tea was carried out in Lisbon. The results showed high levels of azoles, mycotoxins and spores, as well as high levels of total coliforms and fecal coliforms in the analyzed tea.
