A dram for Burns' Night tonight. It wasn't when I bought it, but this is now apparently the second most expensive whisky in the house. It's a blend of malts from distilleries that no longer exist including Caperdonich, Rosebank, Mosstowie, Craigduff, and Port Ellen.

I may or may not be rewatching "Highlander" to go along with it (but only because I've rewatched "Trainspotting" and "Under the Skin" more recently.)

Final day of Whisky Advent 2022 ended up being a nice snort of Ledaig 18. Peaty, smoky, briny, medicinal, absolutely an island whisky. Just a quick shot of the shot as I was quite busy with other doings this evening.

A 20-year-old Speyside from Whisky Works was behind door 22 of the Whisky Advent calendar. They don't disclose the distillery other than to say it was shuttered soon after September of '98 (*cough* Imperial *cough*). Finished in ex-Cognac, which also happened to be distilled in '98. 47.1% ABV.

Whisky Advent day 21 is a 24-year-old private bourbon bottling from That Boutique-y Whiskey Company, "Batch #1", complete with Area 51 sign on the label (first real fancy label I've seen in one of these calendars.) 48% ABV.

Really well balanced, and certainly Christmas-y.

Day 19's Whisky Advent door opened on a treat from my favorite whisky-producing region, Islay. This is the Laphroaig 10-year-old sherry oak finish, which surprisingly I've not had before (although the regular 10 is a fixture on my shelf.) 48% ABV.

A single malt whiskey, 6 years old, and finished in rum casks, 46% ABV. Pale straw color, which seems right given all that.
