Our plans for a big Sunday walk across the local gritstone edges went out of the window because we almost walked the legs off the dog we are minding on Saturday - 11.5 miles urban ramble. She was so tired that we decided to drive out to the Monsal Trail and do something easy and flat, about 8 miles with a pint of Jaipur at Thornbridge Hall. #weekendwalk
#weekendwalk Dundas Aqueduct to Warleigh and back. Requiring a detour to avoid a herd of cows. 🐄
I had a couple of missed #WeekendWalk because of being on call for work and then this Sunday was just one of my go-to quick walks - about 7 miles down Rivelin Valley, cross the river at the packhorse bridge and up the hill on Coppice track, coming back via Crookes Cemetery.
Hopefully back to a longer walk next weekend. I am also dog sitting for a couple of weeks so should be able to cover some midweek miles.
#weekendwalk circular walk along the Midford Brook, including an 18th century prison and Nicholas Cage's old gaff
#WeekendWalk in the North East this weekend. Got a bus to Chester-Le-Street, the town I grew up in, and walked the end section of the Weardale Way to Roker in Sunderland. About 22 miles including walking to and from the bus and some detours because of bits of the route being closed.
On Sunday we had to fib about the length of our #WeekendWalk in order to get the niece and nephew to do it. Just the easy 12 miles down the Loxley Valley and round Damflask reservoir and back again, but we said it was 3 miles each way.
We caught the bus from Hillsborough to Stocksbridge and then walked back via the Barnsley Boundary Walk/Trans-Pennine Trail/Upper Don Walk for #WeekendWalk today.
~ 13 miles from and back to the front door.
Today's #WeekendWalk was 11.5 miles. From Bamford up and across Bamford Edge, skirting Ladybower and up Win Hill, then back via Bamford Mills.
The descent from Win Hill down Parkin Clough was pretty heavy on the knees.
#WeekendWalk this Sunday just gone was a shorter urban ramble due to having friends with a baby join us (and us having been out dancing until it got light on Saturday morning).
We walked the 5 weirs towards Meadowhall and a tram back. ~10 miles from home and back.
#weekendwalk 3.5 miles on the outskirts of Frome, then a mooch through the independent market and some street food.
#WeekendWalk yesterday was between Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough along the Cleveland Way. Absolutely stunning coastal views.
It was fairly hard on the legs because of lots of steep descents to beach level and ascents back up to the cliffs.
My phone logged 18 miles from the bus stop to our hotel.
#weekendwalk lovely walk today from Swineford up to Lansdown and back via Upton Cheney
