Cats definitely get into Weeping Angel mode sometimes. Gina just did as I was brushing my teeth and periodically peeking out the bathroom door at her. She started off crouched at the foot of our stairs. Each time I looked at her, she had crept closer but was motionless each time I made eye contact.

Ultimately she pounced on my slipper clad feet then abruptly ran away with a little trilling. Mrrreow! 😂🐈👼

Watching (recorded) #BettanyHughes in #Lycia, #Turkey, including stone figurines of ancient figures and tombs cut high into the walls. And all I can think of constantly is the #MattSmith #DoctorWho two-part story with #RiverSong, the #WeepingAngels, and the planet that a spaceship crashed into.

Can Weeping Angels look in a mirror? I forget if it ever came up in any of their episodes.

I’d previously suggested on the podcast that baby Tetraps worn as hats could be a defense against the Angels - due to their all round vision. But if the mirror thing works then MIRROR SUITS! Probably look a good deal more stylish than having a plasma drinking monster perched on your bonce.

Flesh and Stone is also the story where we learn that, canonically, the Weeping Angels are flat at the bottom. I do not know how I feel about this.

in the #DoctorWho episode Blink, two characters meet through an underground hunt for clues about the Doctor.

They end up helping save him from the #WeepingAngels.

Then they start a bookstore together, named "Sparrow & Nightingale" after their own surnames.

My headcanon:

After the Doctor erased Donna Noble's memory and left her on earth, she joined a group for people whose memories had been tampered with.

She met Bucky Barnes.
Together, they founded Barnes and Noble.

The Master is one of my least favorite villains on #DoctorWho, other than Missy. Smart and evil, but convoluted storylines. Gimme #WeepingAngels or #VashtaNerada. Hopefully the writing improves for next season.

#ThePowerOfTheDoctor was somewhat underwhelming, but the Rasputin dance number was kinda funny. Irrelevant within the context, but funny.

Question asked in another universe (the Meta one). What song should you give the #WeepingAngels in #DoctorWho.

Naturally, my mind immediately went to “Can’t take my eyes off of you” by Frankie Valli.

But, listening to it, I’ve realised how perfect it would be. Lots of shots of angels, mixed with lots of long lingering romantic moments from the Doctor and companions. (Possibly cut so it looks like they’re lovingly staring at the Angels).

I just so happened to be embarking on a rewatch spree anyway. Currently on #TheTimeOfAngels, one of my favourite creature features.

Anyone have a particular favourite #DoctorWho creature, for any reason? I like the #WeepingAngels because they are legit terrifying, and also because their name sounds like some sort of crusty folk-punk band.

It's nothing like @welshpixie's excellent #calligraphy art, but this quick #doodle of the "Don't Blink" phrase associated with the #WeepingAngels lore from #DoctorWho, scratched enough of the #painting itch I was having. ;)

Wish I'd sketched out the 'wings' a bit before adding them though; I now think it looked better without them.
