TIL that #Nashville is the 22nd largest city in the country. Larger than DC and Boston. I think #WeGo is doing great with what they have since I see them actively trying to grow, but I thought we were a smaller city.

Our transit system should definitely be more robust given our size. Im only just now learning about public transit, but I feel like some bus-only lanes on 24, 65, and 40 could be amazing for downtown commutes. Or even if those new express lanes or whatever allowed busses on them.

Took a $2 #WeGo route home today from downtown. The ride was pleasant, driver was nice, and it was cool to go through areas I haven't been through.

Bus was a couple mins late to the stop but not really a problem.

Only issue is that it turned a 20-35 min driving commute into an hour commute home. Maybe its worth it idk?

Took the #WeGo bus to downtown #nashville this morning to test it out. The experience was mostly good except I didn’t realize the express routes cost $4.25/ride.

The speed of that ride really makes it almost worth it to take the bus. But, doubling my bus budget each day is probably not.

The ride was on time and quick though. Going to try the slower $2 ride this afternoon. If it’s still fast enough, maybe it’ll still be worth it.

On this first morning commute after MNPS Spring Break, I have to tip my hat to the #WeGo drivers that get everyone—kids and adults—where they need to go.

And I admire how bus drivers work together, leaving openings for each other to merge, etc. Public transportation is a collaborative enterprise, more like a dance than a race, and is a refreshing change from * ahem * many other Nashville drivers.

Nashville's #WeGo has plenty of room for improvement, but QuickTicket works really well! It lets me:

* Instantly add money of any denomination, no change cards needed
* Use either the app or a QuickTicket card
* Get automatic transfers
* Never have to pay more than an all-day fare

QuickTicket is a great example of #TransitTech that actually improves the user experience. It makes me more likely to ride #PublicTransit instead of driving, and that should be the goal of every city.

This would be a good start to creating a dedicated funding source for #WeGo. Just sayin'.
