There has also been a drone flying about the coastline at Wemyss. This is part of our annual monitoring in partnership with our friends from the SCAPE trust.
For this we ensure that survey points are visible to a drone filming data on the erosion on the site which can be directly compared year on year.

We are busy getting the site ready for tours starting back up in April, and we have started by clearing some of the litter that has accumulated over the winter. Thankfully the vegetation is still quite low, making the job a little easier.

Are you from #Fife and have you ever heard of #HandselMonday?

This tradition was kept alive in the #wemysscaves up to the beginning of the 20th century, and we, as SWACS, have been working hard to retain as much information on this event as we could.

To honour Handsel Monday, we are having a Handsel Sunday this week and will be opening #WellCave for visitors.

What to do if you want to visit the #WemyssCaves but they're locked up?

As of today we have made the keys available against a returnable deposit at the Perfect Scoop and the McDuff Corner Shop in East Wemyss.

Notices have been attached at the entrances of all three of the locked caves.

Interesting day out on the Fife coast today. Gave a tour of the #WemyssCaves to two very interested chaps today. Small tours like this are an absolute joy.

Now at home with tea and making pizza dough for later.

It's still raining.
I took a day off work tomorrow and will be taking a couple of visitors on a tour of the #WemyssCaves in the morning.

Quite honestly, given the weather forecast, I am questioning my choices. #FifeWeather
