I'm sitting here, beyond fortunate in having 2 weeks of PTO saved up and now 5 weeks of short term disability, to recover and rehab from a TKA. I have a remote, cush, desk job.

And yet, rail workers and others performing actual physically tough jobs get almost zip sick time?
