Last week the government announced plans to create eight new privately owned and run health centres and to remove barriers to using more of the private sector in the NHS.

In this video, people on NHS waiting lists tell their heartbreaking stories of being on the waiting list for months (sometimes for over a year) and demand that the government fund our NHS, not private profit.

That's why we know it's a systemic problem and needs addressing at a national level.

@LeoSammallahti @clacke The key dynamic, especially for consumer co-ops, that this sort of organizing can be helpful addressing is #ManagementCapture. Basically, if the democratic engagement is fairly degraded, small groups can behave in predatory ways. Back in the early aughts, there was a small wave of #creditunion demutualizations that was turned back by the "Center for Member Trust" group, and #WeOwnIt seems to be playing a similar role in the electric co-op sector recently.
