My latest addition: I bought this on a whim, but my son’s interest in Star Wars renewed mine, and I have been courious of WEG’s Star Wars for as long as I can remember without ever playing, reading, or owning it. Fun fact: My first roleplaying experience was a Star Wars freeform session GM’d by a friend. We searched a swamp planet for Yaddle, besting rancor-like beasts and rolling random odd dice from other games. #starwars #westendgames #ttrpg

Back in the mid 1990s when I worked for West End Games I built a traveling diorama of central Mos Eisley starport for running Star Wars Roleplaying Game demos. It hasn’t seen much use lately, but reminds me of nostalgic memories running quick pick-up games and even entire adventures for gamers and fans.

The simplicity of #WestEndGames #StarWars #TTRPG makes it ideal for gaming in the Star Wars universe now, as much as it did back at the time of release. That the original game had a reflected influence on the Canon and Legends universe is all the more glorious.

20. How did you get into TTRPG

I was a big Star Wars fan and I saw a paragraph in a kid magazine (either #JournalDeMickey or #SpirouMagazine) about the #StarWarsD6 2e by #WestEndGames (published in French by #JeuxDescartes) as part of suggestions for Xmas.

I asked for it to my dad and as the spoiled kid I was, I got the core book for Xmas.

Despite my mother's help I didn't understand how to play the game. Was it some board game?

However, I loved reading the book regardless.

@TheCrossCulturalNerd @kwsapphire I’ve also played around with several other systems over the years to one extent or another. Including the old Marvel Superheroes game (the one where your stats might be Incredible, Amazing, or just Good), the #StarWars d6 system rpg that #WestEndGames put out in the late 80s, #Rolemaster (and it’s spawn Middle-Earth Role Playing) and Star Frontiers (long before that was a dirty word).
