Today's animal from Glasgow's architecture is this amazingly detailed (and cute) fish from beside the door of the old dispensary building of the Western Infirmary.

If you look very closely, you can even see the teeth inside of its mouth.

Carved nameplate for the Glasgow Western Infirmary Outdoor Dispensary on Church Street, Glasgow.

Designed by renowned architect J.J. Burnet in the Scottish Barnoial style and completed in 1905, this was a walk-in out-patient clinic for the people of the west end of Glasgow. As well as this intricate nameplate, it has some other fantastic sculptures and carvings on its facade.
