#Westvleteren12 is usually proclaimed the "best beer in the world", but I always figured that this was because it was also the "hardest beer to buy in the world". The abbey is not that convenient to get to, and even after I arrived, it wasn't obvious where to go. I rang the doorbell of the address on the reservation, and the monk who answered told me that there was a special driveway to use. After you see the tiny sign, it's obvious!

I just ordered 2 cases of the most exclusive beer I've ever attempted to buy: Westvleteren 12 from the Abbey Saint Sixtus in Belgium.

We have to drive to the Trappist Monastery on a reserved day and time to pick it up in my designated half-hour window. Their web store is only open on certain days and times, just one week in advance of when the pick-up window slots start.

I've had Westvleteren 12 multiple times and it is the best beer I've ever had. I'm mostly excited to retell the story about the hoops I had to jump through to get my own delivery, instead of relying on blind, dumb luck wandering through European cities to find it.
