In the IPCC AR6 Synthesis report on pg. 38, Fig. 3.2 (https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar6/syr/downloads/report/IPCC_AR6_SYR_LongerReport.pdf) shows areas around the globe where the heat-humidity risks to human health will escalate as we continue to heat.

I zoomed in on the Americas. (Image 1) As if on cue see the wet bulb warnings for the US today (Image 2)

Notice anything?

btw this is already playing out at +1.27ºC. We are currently firmly on track for 1.5ºC shortly.

@RhinosWorryMe @SiR_GameZaloT i have to say it is very easy to confuse the two. A while back i read an excellent explainer about this and do know this but by now i have forgotten so much that again puzzled why there isn’t a clearer, easier way of talking about #WetbulbTemperatures and relating these to the measured temperatures in weather reports etc. for non-experts
