Queueing perpendicular to it, as if it were a supermarket checkout, defeats the purpose.

However, I think he misses the mark by saying it is a product of the #pandemic (even if that has accelerated it).

I date the origins further back, to #wetherspoons et al conflating ordering food, as if you're at a #McDonalds, with getting a round in at a #pub.
