I had the chance to help with the renaturation of bogland.
For decades it was dredged and burned. With the goal of bringing it back to a self-sustaining state, we "fed" it with organic material. Work that will (hopefully) pay off in a few decades...
It was hard work - but learning about local biotopes and strengthening them in a sustainable way felt great.

Doctor's Swamp near Murchison, Vic. Red Gum swamp with lots of native forbs, #wetland plants, and also water #birds (saw Spoonbill & Black Swan). Many River Red Gums of all ages, often bearing hollows and giant burls. This place is always great to stop at if you're in the area.
