Wells Fargo, $WFC, former head of retail banking, Carrie Tolstedt, has agreed to pay $3 million to the SEC.

She plead guilty to a scheme where from 2002 to 2016 at #WFC, her and other employees reportedly opened millions of accounts were opened without customer approval.

This week, we will take a look at Wave Function Collapse (WFC), a procedural generation algorithm proposed by Maxim Gumin. This algorithm accepts simple patterns as templates and spits out scenes/images consisting of said patterns, so it can be used in Roguelike dungeon generation and such. No machine learning involved!

Hm. The #wavefunctioncollapse algorithm, upon closer inspection, doesn't a) do what thought it did and b) do what it doesn't how I thought it was doing it. Leave it to #Houdini to expose the algorithm in it's purest form.

On the upside, #TIL about #WangTiles, which is much more what I *thought* #WFC was about.

I used the wave form collapse algorithm and a map of Kanto from #Pokemon to generate new maps a while back.

I kinda want to work on it more, to also support gen 2 and gen 3 and also allow you to have some influence over it, so you can for example mark things as a route or as a city etc. or even have an algorithm that generates a world map first and then fills it up with cities, routes etc.
