@fatkat Fortunately, I've played and run different enough #ttrpg systems that I am not particularly stuck with whatever the gameplay loop of the game I am running is _supposed_ to be like. My experiences with #CallOfCthulhu , #WFRP , #Exalted , and many more inform my style of GMing, and I have no particular problem with running investigative arcs in #dnd campaigns.

My #RPGaDay #RPGaDay2023 catchup continues - 3 first game bought this year.

It was #BandOfBlades , #FitD game. I was enhancing my own Warhammer Fantasy #FitD #hack and found out that Band of Blades had some kind of corruption mechanic as well, so I wanted to check it out.

Seems like an interesting game overall. Maybe I should test it out some day :)

1 - First game I played this year was my own hack of #BladesInTheDark set in the #WFRP #WarhammerFantasyRoleplay setting.

We started playing the #EnemyWithin campaign.

I really like how the #ForgedInTheDark system works together with the setting and the campaign.

Forest of Hate, a #WarhammerFantasy adventure I edited for Cubicle 7 Entertainment, is now available! It's a high-action investigation where PCs must confront the (somehow still timely) threats of xenophobia and misinformation in order to contain a deadly plague outbreak! #WFRP #TTRPG

@SJohnRoss The way settlements - even minor villages - were often separated by several days's worth of travel from each other is just weird.

That being said, I believe #WFRP 1E had some good discussion of how settlement patterns that make sense can co-exist with large wilderness areas.

Meine Heimat ist aber sicher D&D, speziell 5e. :)

Heute zum ersten Mal seit Monaten wieder ne Runde #DND gespielt (grade in fast allen Gruppen Stau / Flaute).
Viel Spaß gemacht. Zum ersten Mal überhaupt Augury (Vorahnung) bezaubert, genau zum Ende der Session - SL kann überlegen, was er draus macht.

D&D bleibt einfach meine Heimat, bei nichts anderem greifen alle Automatismen wie hier. Was aber eben auch den Reiz anderer Systeme ausmacht - NICHT mit allem vertraut sein, ist nett. :)

@greenspindle nicht so direkt, aber es hat sich seit 2016 so ergeben.
Für #dnd hab ich leicht Leute gefunden und konnte leichter meine eigenen Welten integrieren. Dann haben sich 2 DSA Runden aufgelöst und plötzlich waren es nur mehr 2 #dnd5 und eine andere Kampagne, die ich leitete.

We had our #ttrpg Session 1 last week, playing #enemyInShadows from the #enemyWithin campaign in Warhammer rpg #wfrp4e! 4 players plus first time dm-ing for me. We're using #foundryvtt and discord. Despite 4/5 being close friends/family, all with fantasy/crpg experience, some with ttrpg/larp experience, I was extremely nervous. Worked out very well, though. Great fun! Doing the actual rpging in German despite the Foundry modules being in English was the right decision, too. #pnpde #WFRP

My friend Tom was a fan of the phrase "I don't have to win; I have to die with you losing," which was just the right tone for play.

Enter the Old World.

Apart from 2 sessions DSA 25 years ago my rpging had been relegated to #crpgs simply because I never got off my ass to just try some more #pnprpg.

No more! 4 friends and I will play the #enemywithin campaign in #wfrp4e using #foundryvtt. Had our session 0, character generation session, and I've just now received the first char background thoughts.

With 4 #wfrp podcasts and 0 actual experience under my belt I'll obviously be a perfect #gm and nothing can go wrong...!
