Friend has just returned from Ningaloo reef (Western Australia) where she went swimming with whale sharks. Photo 2 & 3 by Ningaloo Whaleshark Swim photographer. They were there for the solar eclipse as well along with hundreds of other tourists.

Today's is the largest : the whale shark! These giant must swim great distances to filter feed enough to maintain their massive bodies. reach 25' and have white spots that are unique to individuals.
Whale sharks have hundreds of babies at a time, but their young are rarely observed, so little is known about how they're raised. Tracking adults has shown that they spend most of their time below 150', surfacing to feed and making dives over 1000'.
