Do we have the right model for electrical vehicles? Fixed capacity has many downsides. Currently, the vehicle must carry as much battery capacity on every trip as might be required on any trip, and the vehicle is at a standstill whenever it's charged. Two better models come to mind, both based on swappable modular batteries. In one model, the vehicle owner also owns the batteries, and in the other, they are owned by a federation of corporations that rent fully-charged batteries to vehicle owners. An additional upside: standardized batteries can be designed for recylability. #WhatDoYouDoWithADrunkenSailor #EarlyInTheMorning
