If we lived in a society that made sense, it would be almost impossible to get a gun. High prices, age requirements, embedded RFID, background checks, and in-person interviews should all be barriers to gun ownership.

This would make us safer.

It would also reveal a small group of dedicated people who, for some reason or another, badly want the capability to reliably kill another human being.

That might be worth knowing about.
