Remembering Gene Eliza Tierney (1920-91), the striking American film, stage and television actress, born in New York #onthisday. An indelible #femmefatale in the title role of Otto Preminger's classic #Laura (1944), she also starred in the director's later noirs #Whirlpool and #WheretheSidewalkEnds (both 1950) while reteaming with Vincent Price for #LeaveHertoHeaven (1945) and #Dragonwyck (1946), and portraying the nightclub singer in Jules Dassin's superb #NightandtheCity (1950).
