The Swedish government want to make changes to the law to allow more nuclear power stations to be built at more locations. (Currently there is a limit to how many are allowed - you have to close one to build a new one-and only very few locations are possible).
The motivation is to provide power close to energy intensive industries.
But how are they thinking? Energy intensive industries need cheap energy to be competitive. Increasingly that's renewables.
Who will want this new capacity if it costs more? How much subsidy will be put on the table to make it happen - at who's cost, dear taxpayer?
