Winter visitors to the Sunshine State/Florida, are the beautiful American White Pelicans. Their plumage is magnificent and snow white with black wing tips. These large birds don’t dive for their food like the Brown Pelican but instead are more aquatic and catch their food while swimming along.

These two beautiful snowy white American White Pelicans were seen swimming in the glassy black waters of the bay mangroves. These gorgeous creatures are winter visitors to the Sunshine State and we look forward every October to their return to our coastal environs. A color, black and white photo.

The early morning light provided a pink cast sky that reflected on the water of the lake. American White Pelicans departing for another area of the lake. This was during the fall migration October, 2022 in northern Oklahoma.

White Pelicans.

I believe these were flying over the Calcasieu Ship Channel.
